What is Side By Side Share?

Side By Side Share is a peer to peer marketplace for UTV's and ATV's. Owners can list their rig and make extra cash while they aren't using it. Renters can browse, book, and ride, all while communicating with the owner directly through our site.

What does the Side By Side Share Protection Plan cover?

The Side By Side Share Protection Plan and waiver applies to the vehicle and trailer, (if applicable). This is NOT the same as traditional insurance. There is no coverage for street legal operation, There is no liability coverage nor medical coverage. See rental agreement. Side By Side Share agrees to assume the costs related to damages that occur ONLY during the rental period. This includes:

  • UTV damages including the trailer up to $40,000.
  • ATV damages including the trailer up to $12,000.

Damages caused to either the UTV/ATV or the trailer due to collision or accident are applicable. Mechanical breakdowns that are the result of wear or manufacturer defect are not applicable.

What is the deducible/renter portion in the event of an accident?

STANDARD DEDUCTIBLE IS $2000 per occurrence meaning if there are two separate incidents the deductible would be $4000. In any situation where the vehicle is tipped onto its side, rolled over, or jumped THE DEDUCTIBLE WILL BE $5000. The reason for the higher deductible is to encourage safe and responsible driving throughout the rental period. Most accidents can be avoided when proper care is taken.

Who pays for the Side By Side Share Protection Plan & liability waiver?

The renter will see the protection plan fee added to the total in the booking price before they book. The Protection Plan is paid by the Renter and is $49 per night.

How old do I have to be to list a vehicle for rent?

Owners must be at least 18 years old to list a vehicle for rent.

How old do I have to be to Rent?

Renters must be 25 years or older to rent. If someone driving a machine rented through sidebysideshare.com is under the age of 25 and a claim is made, the protection plan will be void and the renter will be responsible for the entire amount owed.

How should the Renter and Owner communicate?

Preferably on Side by Side Share's website. This is an easy way to ensure that there are no misunderstandings and conversation is saved on our server. What is most important is having any agreement in writing. Be clear and open in communicating with each other. Use the Departure/Return forms and take pictures/video.

What is the cancellation policy?

  • 100% refunded if cancelled more than 14 days before the reservation.
  • 50% refunded if cancelled within 14 days of the reservation.
  • No refund if cancelled within 24 hours before the reservation start date.
  • There is a non-refundable service fee with every transaction.

How much does it cost to list my UTV/ATV?

It doesn't cost to list on side by side share, however, 20 percent of the list price is kept by side by side share only when it books. The owner will keep 80 percent of the list price.

Can I pay for a rental or accept money for a rental outside of Side By Side Share?

No. Any instance where this occurs the vehicle will no longer by covered by the Side By Side Share Protection Plan.

Can I list more than one vehicle for rent?

Yes, you may list as many vehicles as you like, but each vehicle must have it's own listing.

How long can I keep my UTV/ATV rental?

One night (or rental period), is 24 hours. This means that if you rent for 1 night and pick up at 2:00pm, the UTV or ATV is due back the next day at 2:00pm. You can book as many nights as you would like, in 24 hour increments.

Where can I find the departure and return forms?

The Departure and Return Forms play an important role in the rental process as they are used to keep renters and owners aligned on the condition of the vehicle. The forms are used to capture the pre and post-trip condition of the UTV/ATV and to report damage or charge for overages after a reservation is complete.
