How To Make Your Listing Stand Out
When it comes to renting out your UTV or ATV, first impressions matter. Your listing is your opportunity to grab attention, spark interest, and ultimately secure bookings. A well-crafted listing can make all the difference in converting casual browsers into excited renters.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through proven strategies to make your listing shine. From crafting the perfect headline to capturing stunning photos and setting the right price, you’ll learn everything you need to know to attract renters and maximize your earnings.
Create an Attention-Grabbing Listing Headline
When potential renters are browsing for a UTV or ATV, you have just a few moments to catch their attention. That’s why your listing title (and image) can be so important.
Instead of simply stating the make and model of your rig, think creatively about how to differentiate yourself. For example: “Family friendly Polaris RZR” is better than just “Polaris RZR”.
Write the Perfect Description
Your listing’s description lets you lay out all the details about your rig and explain what makes it unique. Put yourself in your renter’s shoes. What would you want to know?
The description is where you get the chance to help potential renters get excited about their adventure with friends and family.

New in 2025: Owners can now add Recommendations and Other things to note on their listings. Small but mighty, these two sections give you another opportunity to entice your potential renter and pre-answer any questions they may have – saving you time!
- Recommendations: Highlight local trails, sights to see, or things to do around you.
- Other things to note: This is a great place to reiterate any rules or add any additional details renters should know before booking your rig.
Note: Side By Side Share's protection plan does not currently cover Vehicles For Street Use or Snow Tracks.
While we are working tirelessly to cover these features, at the current time we do not. Please avoid including these items in your listing title or description.
Capture Stunning Photos
Potential renters want to know what to expect before renting your vehicle, and photos are one of the easiest ways to feel comfortable booking.
Not only do high-quality photos lead to more bookings, but they also allow you to charge more as well. Here are some effective techniques to ensure your images stand out:
- Aim to include 5-10 pictures
- Showcase images of you and/or your family in and around your rig. Use photos from things like camping trips or recent rides to help the renter imagine themselves there.
- Add pictures highlighting your rig's features that make it unique, such as bench seats, windshields, or lightbars.
- Take photos outdoors in the morning or evening for the best lighting.
Add a Profile Picture & Bio
A strong profile helps potential renters feel comfortable booking from you. Our data shows that renters are significantly more likely to contact owners who have added a profile picture and short bio to their account.
Upsell Additional Features
If you offer additional features with your rental, like coolers or gas cans, make sure to include those on your listing. Adding extras will likely earn you a few extra bucks!
Add a Trailer
Including a trailer with your rental can significantly increase its value to potential renters, especially for those who may not have a way to transport the vehicle.
If you decide to add a trailer to your listing, you will have the option to either charge for the it's use or include it for free.
Add Delivery
Not every renter wants to pick up and tow your vehicle. Sometimes they want to make life easy and just start riding right at the trail.
Even if you’re renting out your rig to someone who is familiar with utility vehicles, offering delivery can be a safer and convenient option for all parties involved.
Set your price
While your description, headline, and photos are what will entice renters to book your rig, at the end of the day, the price you set is one of the most critical factors.
If you set your price too high, you will turn off potential renters. Too low, and you could potentially be leaving money on the table.
We suggest checking out what other owners charge for similar vehicles to yours on Side By Side Share to find a reasonable starting price. You can also always contact the Side By Side Share team for guidance.
New in 2025: Hosts now have the ability to set a minimum number of nights for rentals. This feature allows you to reduce the hassle of frequent turnarounds and prioritize longer bookings, giving you more time to prepare your rig between rentals.
While setting a minimum stay may limit short-term renters, it can also help you attract more serious and committed renters.
Incentivize longer bookings
Encourage guests to spend a little longer on the trail with discounts based on the number of nights they book.
What it means for you: less work and more money. The more nights a guest books, the less often you have to reset the vehicle for more guests.
For example, you could add a 10% discount for booking 3–6 nights and a 20% discount for 7+ nights.
